Ciba: Day 3

July 18, 2007 | Posted in Academics, Life | 1 Comment

Today, we just did a few experiments to help us understand how to titrate with the use of a computer and found out how to figure out an unknown through acidity tests (pKa), etc. I personally didn’t think today was that fun, but tomorrow, we are going to mold something into plastic. I think that would be fine. It’ll be like one of those objects one can buy at stores where there’s a flower or perhaps a figure cast into a block of plastic. That’s basically what we’re going to make.

However, today was fun in that lunch wasn’t as quiet. Pride and Prejudice is a cool movie and that was one of the conversation topics during lunch. Apparently, the ending that I saw of the movie (ending with the father just laughing) wasn’t the actual ending! The actual ending was when Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth are at his home and he’s commenting on what he would be calling her (Miss Bennet, Elizabeth, Liz, Lizzy, etc.). After that, they make out. But I never got to see that! I was wondering why throughout the entire movie, the two never kissed. And I accused Katie of imagining the two of them kissing because I never saw the part. She was like, “Where did you watch? If you watched it in the theater, maybe you left before it finished.”

“No, I have the movie.”

“Is your movie a bootlegged movie?”

“Hehe…yeah….”

“Well, that may be why! I have to bring that movie in; the ending is at his house!”

I really want to watch that ending now. I knew Pride and Prejudice couldn’t have ended without some kissing! I was amazed that throughout the entire movie, the most they did was head touching. Ha!

Omg is THAT the end of the movie?! The copy I have just has Mr. Darcy chuckling to himself… omg… i feel ripped off x.x I want to see the kiss!!

CIBA sounds pretty exciting. A lot of my friends are at Shad this year (this Canadian science/business summer camp thing) and I regret not participating in anything of the sort.

Would you like to respond?
