A claw hand

January 28, 2008 | Posted in Life | 1 Comment

There is a reason why I dislike coloring. The amount of time required to actually color something using color pencils can extend far beyond the amount of time that should actually be spent on coloring a picture. I just spent four hours coloring and finishing up a poster drawing. Because I had a limited colors, I had to recolor sections using different colors in order to obtain a specific color, and instead of normal Crayola pencils (I use Crayola, not Prism), I have mixed pencils that were Crayola watercolor pencils. Therefore, I had to press extra hard in order to get a color, or else my blacks looked like pale grays.

Now I understand how in the movies, there are those people who have done something so repetitive with their hand that their hand stays in one certain position. My right hand is similar to that right now–I can’t stretch it or else it hurts and my fingers have to be bent . While, I’m typing, I have to press lightly on the keys or else I feel as if I’ve been pricked, no–stabbed, by a needle.

The joys of taking a drawing class. Well, the one perk is that in the majority of pictures, I don’t have to color.
