Procrastination situation

March 26, 2008 | Posted in Academics, Life | 2 Comments

My head is currently suffering from a searing headache–maybe this is due to too much staring at the computer screen. I have been procrastinating, unfortunately. Senioritis is springing up on me. College notices will be coming in soon; just a few days, actually. But I have already decided not to check them…that is, until after April 1st.

Coincidentally, during next Monday and Tuesday (the 31st and 1st), which are a half-day and a no-school day, I will be participating at a science competition up at Albany. What luck! I finally get to go somewhere, even though it’s still in-state, and I miss no school. Oh well, I guess this is good in one aspect–I won’t have to worry about missing something important from school. But I never do miss anything–I guess the biggest thing I would miss would be a lesson in statistics class. But I’ve missed them before and I’ve always done all right on the tests–not that the tests are too hard.

But oh, I don’t think I should be wasting time. I still have an art project to start and finish and many papers to read through for preparing for the competition. Ah, this headache. I think I’ll start on the art project first. It’s supposed to be a 10-hour assignment, but knowing me, I won’t be able to sit down and draw the same thing for ten hours, even if I took breaks. I like drawing, but I simply get bored if I work on the same piece too long. Even my teacher stated that everyone gets bored working on an art piece too long, so I find it ironic that she assigned a 10-hour project.

Oh a random note, I would like to start up the piano again. After quitting private lessons in 10th grade, my hands are starting to itch to play. Not only because when everyone else plays, I can only sit by and listen, but because my sister still remembers piano pieces and I don’t. Sibling rivalry. Obviously, my sister will always be one step ahead, since she is one year older, but I can at least try to keep up and be on par.

Come to think of it, I kind of want to relearn to play the piano again too! Interesting. Maybe it’s an age thing. :P

Cool, another science competition! Good luck with that.

Piano…the one instrument I’ve been playing on and off and never becoming especially good at, yet even now, I can’t help but want to become better at it.

Would you like to respond?
