Spring break
I’ve really been a dead lump this spring break. Well, the one thing I’ve done is watch a lot of things in French, which I guess have helped my ear for the language…somewhat. I got fed up with not understanding enough when I watched the shows, so I switched on the French subtitles. It’s so much easier for me to understand written French rather than spoken French, which I don’t think would be very helpful when I’m actually interacting with a French person (outside of the Internet). Oh well. I’ve got to develop an ear fast and cram/study all the grammar since the AP is in a week. My, time flies by so fast!
I’m also really excited for the upcoming pre-frosh weekend at Harvard. I’m carpooling with someone I met from the Harvard acceptees for my county get-together yesterday. I’ll be arriving at around 10-10:30AM tomorrow. I’m so hyped for the trip! But, I’ve been procrastinating on spring break homework…so I guess I’ll be finishing my stat packet and writing my French essay on the car ride there. I guess that’s better than sleeping. When I get there, I’ll make sure to go bother my sister a little, since she’s making me bring stuff for her from home. I’m like a transportation vehicle….
One of my goals this weekend is to access the food at Harvard. Haha! I heard that people have to eat a lot of chicken…. Unfortunately, I don’t especially like chicken (except the most unhealthy kind: fried), so I’ll see how that goes. But then again, there must always be something vegetarian, so I guess I’ll just stick with that.
Well, I’m psyched!
On a side note, I just tried to create an e-mail address for Harvard, but I only get one choice and it’s liu11. I hear that everyone else can choose their name out of three choices…I’m kind of bummed out that my address is so random–I’m not even in class of 2011, so I don’t know where 11 came from. I hope I can contact someone during the pre-frosh weekend about it and get it changed.

I almost always turn English subtitles on when I watch foreign movies. I have no backbone. But, when I was in high school, I also turned on French subtitles during English movies. I can’t say that it helped with my French, but it was fun.
Anyway, are you sure that that’s your email address? It seems more like an ID. Maybe you have to login in somewhere with that first and then you get to select your email address? I don’t know.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s the e-mail, since the ID is a bunch of numbers (but I memorized them :D). I actually figured out where the 11 came from–I must be the eleventh person to be getting a liu e-mail address. Bah! I didn’t get to contact anyone for help, either. I guess I’ll try e-mailing for help.
