The home stretch!
I only have one more AP left: AP World History next Friday. Even though there’s no school that day, I still have to go. The assistant principal is purposely opening the doors for me to take the test; I feel so special.
Fortunately, the remaining days of school will be great! I’m in my school’s self program, where instead of going to class, fourth quarter seniors take internships. We have to keep a journal and make a presentation at the end of the school year. However, because I neglected to find an internship and hand in my forms on time, I’m in this new program under self, which is basically a tutoring program. I will be tutoring four ninth-graders every day in biology so that they can pass their Regents exam. This way, seniors can give back to the school and get out of classes. So, it’s a win-win on both sides. (Seniors won’t be learning even if they are in class, since there’s no motivation left. We all know the colleges we’ll be attending, APs have ended, and the school ranking has already been decided.)
I still have to go Orchestra class, however, since the last concert isn’t until a little more than a week away. After that, I will be dropping Orchestra, too!
So, my schedule right now includes me sleeping in and getting out of school early. It’s pretty neat.
After my last AP, though, I’m looking to find an internship in a website designing and development company. That way, I can at least get my feet wet in this field and see how it’s like. In any case, getting such an internship added onto my resume would help my freelancing career.

Definitely pursue trying to create a club–it’s motivation that gets us to where we want to go, so with just a bit of motivation and persistence, I’m sure your club will be realized.
I’m looking for a company based in my county (around my area) for website internship. I’m not looking for a through the Internet one–I would like one where I have to physically go to a building every day and interact with people. It’s mainly the interacting experience I’m looking for, too. Plus, it’s so much easier to learn from others when they’re actually there next to you.
I’m from Westchester County in New York. I don’t want to exactly reveal where I am from, but I’ll say that my high school is ranked in the middle of all the high schools in Westchester. It’s very diverse with a strong Hispanic and black population and a relatively good sized student population. There are 303 students in my grade.
Although I believe that the middle school isn’t faring as well now (they eliminated the accelerated math program, which I was a bit upset about, since I really appreciated that program when I went through the school district), my town’s high school is pretty good. There are many courses offered (including many APs), which may not be offered in other schools. (As an added bonus, my school pays for all the AP costs. So, I’ve saved about $800 in taking APs.) However, since my school’s diversity is so great, the problem of racial separation is becoming evident, and the school district is looking into that. I hold my own opinions on this matter….
I bet that’s more than what you wanted to know ![]()

Your school is brilliant to think of something like that. I guess they realize that by helping the students, the students help the school get better.. My school should learn that concept. Right now I want to make a club for next year, and I’m having difficulty doing so since my sponsor quit and did not inform me….
I like biology, tell us who you find for a web design internship! I have tried to find one on the Internet, but I guess web development is a bit underground..
(I would ask you where you go to school, but that might scare you) Is it a popular school?
