Catching up on my life

July 1, 2008 | Posted in Life | No Comments

It’s been a while since I last decided to write a new entry. It isn’t that I couldn’t think of something to write about, but the summer laziness has set in. As soon as my exams had ended in May (yes, quite some time ago), it was like some form of jet lag washed over me. I didn’t go traveling, but I would sleep late and wake up groggy, not too motivated to do anything. Though, I would have a gnawing feeling at the back of my mind to shake off this laziness and do something productive. Ah well, it’s better to start late than never, right?

I graduated from high school last Thursday. Wow, it seems so long ago. I gave a speech, which I hoped could have been light-hearted, but I only received a few chuckles from the crowd–from the more than 2,000 people crowd. No matter, I wasn’t too fazed by the reaction. But, I did feel sick when my stomach started to ache after the graduation ceremony. It might have been dehydration; I only figured out from another student after the ceremony that I had a bottle of water under my chair the entire time. I was so parched while I gave my speech and waited for the more than 300 students to have their names announced, step onto the stage to accept their diplomas, and then walk off for pictures.

Two weeks before graduation, I attended an award ceremony for the NAAAP scholarship. There, I had to give another speech. I believe my NAAAP speech was terrible, even in my own eyes. I felt a bit red-faced when I gave the speech, because it was just so utterly reeking of melodramatic writing. Even so, I enjoyed my time at the ceremony because I loved the inspirational speeches given by the MC.

I hope to be able to blog at least once a day this summer, and not only about my life, but provide informational blogs as in reviews, tutorials, opinions, etc. I always feel a bit of satisfaction when someone contacts me with a question about an academic program I had attended previously or asking me about how I designed something. I love sharing with others how I do what I do, but I just need to find the motivation to write everything down.

Would you like to respond?
