Internship Interview

July 10, 2008 | Posted in Life | No Comments

I had the interview for an internship today. It wasn’t bad, but I can’t quite say how well it went. I always wait for the decision from the interviewer before I deem an interview good, just so I don’t have any added pressure from my parents.

I learned that the company I applied to was more programming based than website designing, but that actually works well with what I want. I have been meaning to pick up PHP and databasing for…around three years now. But each time the summer comes, I either waste my time doing something else, or I’m actually doing something productive that requires my time. So, if I receive this internship, it would be a wake up call for me to pick up a PHP book and try to read through it. But either way, I definitely want to learn some PHP this summer because I find that people who can website design and know PHP/databasing can earn so much more money. As a college student (I can proudly say I am one now, since my dad just paid my tuition for the fall semester), more money for me is never a bad thing. Especially since I didn’t apply to many scholarships and I am missing money for the student contribution part of the tuition….

I’m pretty psyched up to learn PHP. I think I’ll check out a book from my library tomorrow and get through some of it during the weekend. That reminds me: I’ll be playing tennis with a few friends on Sunday. I haven’t played in such a long time; I just hope I haven’t lost all my tennis skills.

Would you like to respond?
